WHAT WE DO

Sichuan Quake Relief is a non-profit, humanitarian organization, coordinating small-scale projects to improve the lives of people affected by the May 12th, 2008 7.9 magnitude earthquake. Sichuan Quake Relief identifies the specific needs of remote communities that may not receive immediate assistance, sends out appeals, collects funds and supplies, and coordinates their delivery.

Administrative costs are nil. All of the individuals involved in the Sichuan Quake Relief project are volunteers who pay their own way.
Each of the volunteers has skills or contacts that we use to further projects. The Chengdu Bookworm has donated know how, staff, facilities, and its extensive logistics network. Simon Perrin of Simon Perrin Design has donated his talents for the building of the website. Chengdoo magazine is assisting with PR and regular briefings. The many other individuals assist in networking, purchasing, distributing, moving, building, comforting, and writing.
